Summer is here and so it is time for latest Fripito update!

We launched the fundraising campaign on indiegogo.com in March 2014. One month later, when it became clear that our expectations were unrealistic, we decided to extend the campaign and work on our communication strategy.

The second part of the campaign ended on June 2, 2014 and thanks to generous Czech donors, we have raised almost USD 6,000. A great achievement for a Czech startup, unfortunately it was not enough to cover the planned expenses and the money arrived two months later than expected. We are hardly the first or the last to underestimate the importance of international communication and while we did very well in the Czech Republic, our project was hardly noticed abroad. It was a valuable lesson.

Not wanting to cry over spilled milk or compromise, we have decided to approach potential investors to finish Fripito as planned. We decided to prioritize the negotiations with investors, so we might do Fripito according to our ideas. Although it has delayed the placing of application in the Appstore, but we believe that it makes sense.

We are proud to announce that we have found an investor and the work on our application continues as planned. We have hired a new team member to work on the Android version of our app and the cooperation with our team of photographers is getting smoother by the day.

The application should be available in the Czech AppStore in August 2014. The global version should be available in September, both for iOS and Android, which will erase the initial delay and put as back on track.

Thank you for your support, please stay with us, the final version is coming in two months.

How to beat jet lag?

If you have ever traveled over several time zones, you may have suffered from some of the unpleasant effects of jet lag. These may have included stomachache, inability to concentrate, fatigue during the day and problems sleeping at night. Some people experience all of the above symptoms, some none at all. The severity of jet lag depends not only on age and physical fitness, but also on traveling experience and ability to deal with time change.

Jet lag is nothing else than a disruption of your inner clock by a quick move over two or more time zones. Traveling west to east is generally worse. Each of us deals with jet lag differently, but it takes most people several days to get over it. The more time zones you cross, the worse and longer lasting your jet lag is likely to be.

Keep reading for several proven methods and personal tips how to minimize the impact of jet lag.

The first is to adjust to the time at your destination beforehand. This means going to bed an hour early or later than normal. If you plan on crossing several time zones, start the adjustment regime earlier.

We highly recommend sticking to your adjustment regime during your flight too. If it is daytime at your destination, stay awake during the flight. If it is nighttime, try to sleep or book an overnight flight. If you have problems falling asleep on planes, try wearing a night mask and earplugs that will keep out the annoying sounds.

Remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. The low air pressure in the passenger cabin lowers the level of oxygen in your blood, which causes fatigue and dehydration. Alcohol and coffee  contribute to dehydration so try to avoid them while traveling. If you are afraid of flying and  alcohol helps you relax, try natural drops instead.

When you reach your destination, try immediately adopting the local time. Do not go to sleep even if you can barely keep your eyes open, try staying up until the normal bedtime at your destination. If you need to go to bed earlier then used to, avoid any physical activity or heavy food that may make it hard for you to fall asleep. A good way to relax, and loosen muscles cramped by traveling, is to have a hot bath.

Bon voyage!
